The Tampa Bay Down Under "Social Club" is nothing more than a group of Aussies and those interested in Australian culture. Sound fancy? Naw, it's really just an excuse for a bunch of fun loving people to get together to talk about surfing, footy, beaches, beer, the Redbacks and anything else that remotely has to do with Australia.
It's an excuse for Aussies in the Tampa Florida area to get together to hear a familiar accent and tell stories about back home. It's also an opportunity for non-Aussies to have a good time around people from a country that far too many Americans say "I always wanted to visit there." Perhaps they'll trade stories about backpacking or studying abroad, or maybe be inspired to take that "once-in-a-lifetime" trip and see that it's not really THAT far and the flight isn't THAT bad! |
